LHI: It has been a case of "will it, won't it" for quite some time now as speculation has been rife about whether Apple would launch its new iPhone in September or not. A prolific Apple tipster, however, believes that the iPhone 8 will indeed be arriving on time in September, In his latest note research note obtained by Apple Insider website, Apple tipster and KGi Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo has also said that the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus will arrive in Black, Silver and Gold colour variants.

The new iPhone handsets will be launched simultaneously in September. The lineup will probably include the iPhone 8, iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus. But it has been mentioned that the 'iPhone 8' will be available in limited quantities as the supply chain will produce 2 million and 4 million units only in this quarter. The production will however, be ramped up to 45 million and 50 million units within this year.

Furthermore, all three iPhone models will be supporting fast charging tech. Unfortunately, users will have to spend extra on the Lighting-to-USB-C cable and wall adapter to make use of the fast charging tech.

iPhone 8 could feature edge-to-edge OLED display unlike the LCD displays in the iPhone 7s and the iPhone 7s Plus.

A slew of new features of the upcoming iPhone 8 have been discovered from a recently released HomePod firmware. Latest one is the handset's ability to mute notifications when a user is looking at the screen, according to developer Guilherme Rambo.

"What @jsnell talked about on the last @_upgradefm is true: the iPhone will suppress notification sounds if you're looking at it," tweeted Rambo with a couple of screenshots showing the references. There is no word as to how exactly will the feature work.
