If you’ve been holding out patiently for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, Samsung’s newest flagship devices, then your wait may soon be over after the phones went on sale in an initial four markets.
Samsung is starting sales in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and Korea today (Friday), with expansions to other countries coming “in the weeks ahead,” it said.

Heres the quick review recap, the 5.8-inch S8 is priced at $725 while the larger, 6.2 inch S8+ comes in at $825. For that money, customers will get an infinity display, next-gen processor and solid camera experience that keeps Samsung at the front of the Android handset race. That being said, neither models ships with Samsung’s Bixby smart assistant. The much-anticipated service, which Samsung put forward as one of the phone’s key selling points, will come to the S8 series via an update that is due out in the spring.
Initially readings look positive for Samsung, with the company selling a record one million pre-orders in Korea alone, although there are rumors of supply chain issues in the country. More wider, analysts have tipped global sales to reach at least 45 million units. Analyst firms remain divided over whether Galaxy S8 sales will exceed last year’s Galaxy S7 series, which reached an estimated 48 million units worldwide. Nonetheless, Samsung is looking at a 50 percent year-on-year profit jump when it reports its next earnings this month — that’s primarily down its memory chip business, but a good selling flagship would be another welcome addition for the company.

Now with AutoDraw, Google is launching a new experiment today that uses machine learning algorithms to match your doodles with professional drawings to make it look like that of a pro.


 AutoDraw can be used on your phone or desktop and it provides a pretty user friendly interface . You simply start drawing your best version of a pizza, or house, or dog, or birthday cake and the algorithms try to figure out what it is that you’re trying to draw. It then tries to match your squiggles with drawings in its database, and if it finds any possible matches, it’ll show them in a list at the top of your virtual canvas. If you like one of those options, you simply click on it and AutoDraw replaces your amateurish creation with something a bit slicker.

Facebook Messenger just made it a little easier to share capital between friends with friends. And the company is likely hoping that a new addition to Messenger’s payments feature means that you’ll skip Venmo to do it. Starting today in the US, users on Android and desktop PC can send payments to and split payments between groups of people. Presumably the iPhone version of Messenger will add support for group payments very soon.

Facebook actually  introduced person-to-person payments within Messenger in early 2015, but today the company announced the feature is expanding to support groups, as well. The payments feature essentially works the same in group chats as in private ones, but now allows users to pay either everyone in the group or individual members through a click of the payments icon (the dollar sign).

As with direct peer-to-peer payments, the group payments feature is free to use without hidden fees; all it takes is linking your account with a debit card.


You can send cash to (or request it from) everyone in the group chat or just certain participants. When requesting, you can either specify an amount from each person or just tell Messenger to split a total amount — with or without yourself included. Money is transferred to your bank account within five business days, perhaps not quite as quick as the reliable next-business-day deposits from Venmo. The group chat will include updates on who has paid, so you can shame friends who are tardy in paying their share.

The service is free to use and does not require a password, Facebook notes.
Payments is an area of Facebook’s business that hasn’t received as much focus over the years, despite the social network’s potential to collect and store payment data for its sizable user base – information that could then be used in other areas across Facebook – like gaming or e-commerce, for example.

Group payments is live starting today in the U.S. The feature is available on Android and desktop, but its yet to be extended to other countries.

Siri and its rivals will be almost indistinguishable from the friends and family you talk to via your phone, and if you've seen the movie Her then you know how that might turn out. It may sound scary but it should be hugely useful.
The whole concept of the phone might go away as we use small microphones and earpieces to communicate with the cloud instead, though there's still likely to be a screen of some kind, even if it is an optional, foldable one - otherwise how else are you going to battle through the Star Wars Episode XVIII spin-off game?

Samsung market increases greatly. It has made its highest profit jump in three years and the successful launch of its new flagship Galaxy S8, the Korean company is now forecasting a big jump in profits for its upcoming Q1 2017 financials.

The company is predicting profits for the quarter will come in around 9.9 trillion KRW ($8.7 billion), which would be up 48 percent year-on-year. Revenue is forecast at around 50 trillion KRW ($44.1 billion), roughly on par with 49.78 trillion KRW one year previous.
This is all before the Galaxy S8 even goes on sale, of course. The device will begin shipping to pre-order customers on April 18, with the phone then going on sale to all from April 21.
 
These forecast results show that Samsung has bounced back from the Galaxy Note 7 disaster. The device’s recall hit the company hard financially. Samsung’s profits and revenue both plunged 30 percent in its Q3 2016. Analysts predicted that the phone, which Samsung confirmed was withdrawn from sale due to issues with its battery, may have cost Samsung anything from $7 billion-10 billion in total. Although the company plans to sell refurbished note 7s also. 

The Galaxy Tab S3 is Samsung's first high-end Android slate in well over a year. The newcomer will replace the Galaxy Tab S2, which debuted in the fall of 2015 on the top of the company's range of Android tablets.

COMPUTERS with artificial intelligence (AI) has developed the ability to code itself, putting millions of jobs at risk and paving the way for the rise of the machines.

Microsoft and Cambridge University have teamed up to create AI software which has the ability to write code for itself.

The sophisticated machine known as DeepCoder has the ability to solve its programming problems by stealing codes from other programs.

The research paper from the two establishments says that the development is a huge step towards powerful AI and will also allow people to develop programs much easier.

The paper reads: “We have found several problems in real online programming challenges that can be solved with a program in our language.

"A dream of artificial intelligence is to build systems that can write computer programs.”

Coding has been described as one of the most important skills of the future, and a recent survey from job markets firm Burning Glass found that as many as seven million job openings in 2015 required some form of coding skills.

A recent report from the United Nations (UN) revealed AI is set to displace millions of workers across the globe as scientists storm towards making machines with human-level intelligence.

While many firms will welcome the news of free labour that will be more efficient than humans, it will leave many people worried about their economic future.

The report from the UN warn that people in the developing world are at the most risk of losing their jobs to “disruptive technologies” and the study states that the process is already in full swing.
