I remember my first experience with computer viruses; it was in my first year in college and I would be putting it mildly by saying it was a real pain in the neck. I lost so many documents and files to the devastating hit from the infamous ILOVEYOU worm. But my experience is nothing compared to what some other people have suffered, entire companies have had to lose millions due to destructive computer virus infestations in the past and virus developers don’t seem like they are about to stop making those nasty little things. Here are the most notorious computer viruses you wouldn’t enjoy having to deal with; 1. My Doom My Doom was first noticed in January 2004 and it wreaked havoc all over the world with over 2 million computer users affected within the first few weeks of its release. It was transferred via email messages with compelling subject lines. This virus which is also known as ‘novarg’ conveniently takes the cake as the most notorious computer virus ever. First, you get a mail with a subject line that says ‘Mail Transaction Failed’. The mail comes with an attachment as well. If the attachment is executed, the virus would quickly latch on to all the email addresses found in the recipients address book and then transfer the mail to them as well. Losses of more than $38 million were incurred due to the spread of this notorious virus.
